Role: Oklahoma Tech Supervisor & Radiologic Technologist
Years with BioTech X-ray: 13
Anthony Coleman has been part of BioTech X-ray since 2013, when his former employer, US X-ray, was acquired. With nearly four decades of experience in mobile imaging, Anthony brings a depth of technical expertise, leadership, and patient-centered care to every aspect of his role.
Anthony currently serves as Oklahoma Tech Supervisor for X-ray, handling scheduling, portions of technician training, early-stage payroll, office responsibilities, and equipment maintenance, while continuing to work as a staff Radiologic Technologist.
No two days look the same.
“Every day is different in this work.”
Some days involve longer drive times, while others require managing higher patient volumes and paperwork. Certain exams demand additional collaboration with facility staff to ensure patients receive the care they need. Recently, Anthony has also been navigating the transition between BioTech X-ray’s new PACS system and the legacy system.
Anthony’s decision to stay with BioTech X-ray after the acquisition was shaped by both technology and leadership.
“First BTX brought us brand new DR technology, replacing the old CR equipment.”
“The second was meeting Tamara Schwartz.”
Those early interactions helped establish confidence in the company’s leadership and direction.
“After nearly forty years in mobile X-ray, BTX is by far the best employment experience I’ve had.”
Anthony’s path into healthcare began with a desire to serve. Originally interested in both ministry and medicine, he discovered X-ray during high school and realized it allowed him to pursue both callings.
“My junior year in high school I discovered that X-ray was perfect for me. I could still do both ministry and X-ray.”
Patient care remains the most meaningful part of Anthony’s work, particularly serving older adults in nursing and rehabilitation facilities.
“Without a doubt, the best part of this work is our patients.”
That connection became deeply personal when his own parents required rehabilitation care.
“I actually did X-ray exams on my dad while he was treated.”
Anthony has also witnessed firsthand how advances in digital radiography have transformed patient care. What once took days can now be reviewed almost immediately, allowing physicians and care teams to respond faster and more effectively.
For Anthony, patient-first care is also about easing anxiety.
For the residents, “often, simply thinking about leaving the facility to get a procedure done seems to cause an anxiety spike.”
“When I notice this I quickly assure them that I’m doing the exam bedside, in their room.”
Outside of his clinical role, Anthony has spent decades serving nursing home communities through ministry. A Christian since childhood, he and his wife have led worship services, prayed with residents and staff, and built long-term relationships at Capital Hill Skilled Nursing & Therapy — a commitment now entering its twentieth year.
“I’m a Christian before all else.”
“My work in mobile X-ray daily put me in this environment, so in a way, it was a natural consequence to extend ministry into the community. I love it.”
Anthony’s story reflects the heart of BioTech X-ray — advanced technology paired with compassion, experience guided by service, and care delivered where patients need it most.
