Employee Spotlight: Sunny Holt
Director of Technical Support & Purchasing
For this month's Employee Spotlight, we're celebrating someone who has spent nearly 17 years building BTX from the inside out — Sunny Holt. She started as one of our Radiologic Technologists in 2009, and today she leads Technical Support and Purchasing. In between, she's become one of the clearest examples of what it means to be a patient-first person, on and off the clock.

Fresh out of SWIC, Sunny joined BTX in October 2009, and says she was initially drawn to our company's clear commitment to being "the patient-first people." That mission matched her own beliefs about how care should be delivered — so much so that when she first applied and was told that there wasn't an opening, not even for a dispatcher role… she found her way in any way. (And we’re so glad she did!)
As Tamara, our CEO and Owner, remembers it: "Very soon after she was hired, Sunny's supervisor, Jim Paproth, pulled me aside and said, 'This new tech, Sunny, is going to be running the company someday! You just wait and see.'" She also notes that, “while Sunny may not be running the company — from a technical standpoint, she's involved in training all new technical staff, purchasing, maintaining, and supporting all equipment and software used for patient care and ensuring that our team has the tools they need to be the Patient-First People!”
What's kept her here for 17 years goes well beyond that first alignment of values. "This organization has become much more than just a workplace," Sunny says. "It feels like a second family." She describes her coworkers as a team that's not only skilled, but deeply supportive — one where trust and dependability come standard, and everyone knows they can lean on one another.
What She Brings to the Work
If you ask Sunny what values matter most to her, and she doesn’t hesitate: compassion, integrity, teamwork, and dependability.
"I believe in treating others with respect, being accountable, and following through on commitments, while building trust in every relationship," she says. Day to day, that looks like supporting her coworkers, communicating clearly, and being someone others can count on — whether that's lending a hand, sharing knowledge, or simply staying positive. "Ultimately, my values shape how I show up for our field technicians, my team, and the organization every day."
Life Outside of BTX
Anyone who knows Sunny also knows that her family comes first, always. At home, her world revolves around her husband, Charles, and their four daughters — Kialey, Paislea, Charlee, and Kenslie. With four girls and all their activities, there's rarely a quiet weekend (and Sunny wouldn't have it any other way). You'll find her on the sidelines of sports games more weekends than not, cheering loud and proud. "Watching them grow and succeed brings me so much joy," she says — and it's clear that being present for her girls is one of the truest expressions of who she is.
That same heart for showing up for others spills over into everything Sunny does in her community. She helps coach basketball at the YMCA, pouring encouragement into young athletes the same way she does at home. She volunteers with Girl Scouts alongside her daughters — not just for the time together, but because she wants her girls to grow up understanding what it means to serve. She gives her time at church during Vacation Bible School, helping create something joyful for kids. And together with her daughters, she's organized a personal care item drive for people in need and helped build a flower garden for a local elementary school — a small patch of beauty for students to enjoy and learn from for years to come.
It's a lot of hats to wear — mom, coach, mentor, volunteer — but talk to Sunny for even a few minutes, and you'll realize she doesn't experience it as “a lot.” It's simply who she is. She’s someone who shows up, again and again, for the people and places around her. That's exactly why she was nominated for this spotlight.
The People Who Shaped Her
Sunny credits her mother as an early and lasting influence — her strength, determination, and work ethic taught Sunny the value of discipline and perseverance from a very young age.
Professionally, BTX has played just as significant a role. She joined the company in her early twenties, and names Tamara Schwartz, Bill Hunt, and Jim Paproth as the people who helped guide her growth as a young adult, with Chris Nolan and Tina Berger consistently there to support and mentor her along the way. "Their collective guidance has made a lasting impact, and I'm truly grateful for the role they've played in shaping both my career and character."
That foundation carried her to a major personal milestone: earning her MBA from the University of St. Francis in May 2025.
