Fighting for Fair Access — BTX Advocates for the PURE Act (H.R. 2477)

At BioTech X-ray, we’re proud to stand at the forefront of healthcare innovation—not just in diagnostics, but in policy. In May, our leadership team traveled to Washington, D.C. to support the reintroduction of the Portable Ultrasound Reimbursement Equity Act (PURE) Act – H.R. 2477.

As of late October, we are pleased to announce that we have 28 co-sponsors of the PURE Act.

This bill is more than just legislation—it’s a critical step toward ensuring equitable access to portable ultrasound for patients in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. If passed, the PURE Act would modernize Medicare reimbursement, helping ensure that vulnerable populations receive timely, on-site diagnostics without unnecessary hospital transfers.

The bill is currently under review by the House Energy & Commerce and Ways & Means Committees, and we remain committed to advocating for its passage. Our hope? That portable imaging at the bedside becomes recognized as an essential healthcare delivery model—while reducing Medicare costs.
